Why Take Up Classical Qigong Study?
“My initial expectations of taking up the study of Classical Qigong were relatively limited. I wished to improve my life, which was not going well either personally or professionally at the time. I had lost any sense of direction or purpose in my life and had spent several months in a state of deep depression. It seemed to me that beginning the study under a teacher of classical lineage would help restore a sense of value to my life. I had been interested in Qigong and Taiji for a number of years, but I had never come across a teacher like Sifu Yeung who could so immediately inspire me through his presence. By becoming his student, I would like to bring closure to emotional issues that had been the obstacles to my quest of happiness. I would like to lose my bondage to fears that are not based on reality but of my mind. Without attaining a state of quietness and emotional stability in the manner as Sifu Yeung advised, I do not see how I could be of help to others or myself; nor would I be able to find out what my true potentials and abilities really are. The world is full of people who can recite their lessons, but do not live by them. I do not see how I can be of any assistance in helping others to a new level of insight and purpose if I have not done the work required to bring true the evolution of my own journey in spiritual growth.”
