Gem of Wisdom for Daily Reflection:

How to Become a Living Dharma Treasure

Natural scene

In ‘How to Become a Living Dharma Treasure’, a continuation of the Audio Teaching ‘The Path of How to Attain Liberation’, Ven. Lama Dondrup Dorje describes four steps to improve our conduct and in so doing bring about the stability of a mind that is free from disturbance. It is only from stability that we can relax within our own true nature and basic wisdom will arise.

When we practice wholeheartedly to put the Dharma Teachings into practice with sincerity and consistency, we transform ourselves into a living Dharma Treasure. The teaching of Buddha focus on improving our own conduct, and not judging or correcting others. Here, Ven. Lama Dondrup Dorje describes and explains four practices which we can all work on applying in our everyday lives: not to talk about other people’s mistakes, not to talk about other people’s transgressions, not to use profanities or words of anger, and not to practise stinginess or selfishness, but instead to practice the generosity of giving with joy.
