Heart Sutra - New
The Heart Essence of the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra is taught here by Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche over four blocks of teachings which were given during 2006 and 2007.
The Sutra describes how Shakyamuni Buddha, while dwelling in Rajagriha, was absorbed in the samadhi of Profound Illumination, and at the same time the great Bodhisattva Mahasattva Noble Avalokiteshvara was absorbed in the profound practice of Transcendental Wisdom. At that time, Venerable Shariputra asked the great Bodhisattva Mahasattva Noble Avalokiteshvara how someone of noble family should proceed in order to engage in the profound prajnaparamita practice. In answering this question, the discourse presented in this sutra gives the core Mahayana teaching on the nature of emptiness.
