Fund Appeal for Hepatitis B Vaccination Programme in India
The start of the year has seen an influx of 210 new monks and nuns joining Namdroling Monastery in India. Following the successful completion of a Typhoid Vaccination Programme sponsored by Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche at the end of last year, there was sufficient surplus vaccine to enable the vaccination of all these new members of the ordained community. Health checks and treatment of the ordained community is continuously taking place at the Tsepal Tobkyed Hospital, which has been supported by Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche over many years and was saved from closure in 2012 by the generous support of Pathgate Institute’s students, friends and supporters.
Following a request from the Hospital administrators, Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche has agreed to raise the fund needed to sponsor a much needed Hepatitis B Vaccination Programme for the entire ordained community of 4000 monks and nuns at the Namdroling Monastery in India.
