Fund Raising for Hepatitis B Vaccination Programme complete
Many thanks to all the students and friends of Pathgate Institute who have supported the fund-raising efforts for the Hepatitis B Screening and Vaccination Programme at Namdroling Monastery in India. Due to your generosity, the funds needed for this vital programme have now been raised and the hospital administrators at Tsepal Tobkyed Hospital have commenced the task of screening and vaccinating the entire ordained population of Namdroling Monastery.
A total number of 1000 newcomers, who have joined Namdroling Monastery since the last Hepatitis B vaccination programme four years ago, were screened for Hepatitis B from the 14th to the 17th August; and by the 24th August, a total number of around 3500 monks and nuns were given their 1st dose of the Hepatitis B vaccination.
This project would not have been possible without the generous support of all our students and friends from around the world. On behalf of Namdroling Monastery, we would like to extend our most deep-felt gratitude to all of you.
