Pathgate Sponsors Construction Of Dharma Centre
Khenpo Sangay Wangdi Rinpoche (former Principal of Ngagyur Nyingma University) and other Khenpos and Lopens from Namdroling Monastery have embarked on a project to build a two-story traditional hostel for Khenpos around the premises of the community temple located at the upper region of the village Thrimshing, in the district of Trashigang, Bhutan.
The hostel will be used as a Dharma centre with accommodation for the teaching faculty and about twenty children. The purpose is to nurture a new generation of young monks, nuns and ngakpas to uphold the longevity of the Palyul lineage in Bhutan as the current generation is aging.
With the donation they received from the devotees within Bhutan, they were only able to complete the construction of the first story. Khenpo Sangay Wangdi Rinpoche then wrote to Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche to request his consideration for support. Lama Dondrup Dorje Rinpoche promptly agreed to offer funding for the completion of the whole building. Here are some photographs from a recent inspection of the construction.
